Limerick city, the fourth largest city in Ireland has witnessed a rebirth in recent years and in 2014 was chosen as the Irish city of Culture. Developments included a rejuvenated waterfront, a new boardwalk as well as a renovation of the 13th century St John’s Castle. The city centre also has excellent shops, stores and is close to Shannon airport.
